Crackpot Comedy

Crackpot Comedy is a Queer (& ally) lineup show in the best suburb in Melbourne (Brunswick). Take a seat and put up your feet. We'll serve you a hot mess of up-and-comers and veterans of the scene, performing stand-up comedy, song, and a little bit of sketch. Tickets are cheap, the show is cheerful. Come celebrate Queer comedy at Unassigned Gallery, an artist-run space with bevvies on a budget.

ACCESS: this venue is partially wheelchair accessible. Entry via front is a single door (78cm wide) with one step (16cm high). Entry via back is through a single door (83cm) with a ramp that goes over the one step. Seating is all on one level, on non-static chairs which can be shifted around if needed. The nearest wheelchair-accessible public toilet is Barkly Square Shopping Centre which will be open from 9am-9pm.

    Freddie Arthur is a local gig pig and MC. A small-town girl originally from Mildura, her strangest gig to date was a 3 hour spot at Inward Goods Festival at 10 o’clock in the morning. She looks like a librarian, speaks like a bogan, and talks to her crotch when she gets lonely.

  • Anna Piper

    Anna Piper Scott is a Perth-born, Melbourne-based, stand-up comedian on the rise. A trans woman of remarkable wit and social insight, Anna is best known for her solo show Queer & Present Danger, which was nominated for Best Comedy at the Melbourne Fringe 2019. Catch her solo show, None of that Queer Stuff at Doubletree by Hilton from 15th - 21st of April.

  • Luka Muller

    Luka Muller is a Melbourne-based comedian, radio presenter, writer & podcaster who has performed all over Australia and the world. You may know him from Triple J or his podcast, Oooh Spooky. Check out his solo show, 5 Top Smells I Smelled Before at The Victoria Hotel from the 28th of March - 21st of April.

  • AJ Lamarque

    AJ Lamarque is a proudly mixed-raced writer, presenter, performer and stand up comedian. He hosted The Comedy Zone at the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and was the Official Ambassador for the Sydney Fringe Festival in 2022.   • Robyn Reynolds

    Robyn Reynolds is a British-born, Melbourne-based comedian, writer and MC. She was nominated for Best Comedy at Newcastle Fringe Festival and Sydney Fringe Festival in 2022. In 2023, her Melbourne Fringe Festival debut, Run Robyn Run, was selected as a Judge’s Pick.

  • Donna Collins

    Donna Collins is a Melbourne-based comedian and visual artist. You may recognise her from Comedy Republic, Breast of the Fest or her one-woman Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2023 show, Total Snoozefest.

  • Matt Barron

    Matt Barron is an MC, comedian, singer and co producer of Pride Comedy, Footscray’s loudest and proudest comedy night. Matt has performed as part of Midsumma Festival, Strawberry Fields, and is a regular host for Quizmeisters.

  • Maddy Weeks

    Maddy Weeks is an award-winning comedian, actor, producer and aspiring cult leader. They are best known as the co-founder of Queerly Beloved Comedy, an all-Queer comedy show that showcases and uplifts LGBTQIA+ voices in Australian comedy. Catch their solo show, Never Gonna Die at Storyville from the 9th - 21st of April (no performance on the 15th).

  • Miso Bell

    Miso Bell is a Queer stand up comedian, internationally published author and playwright, and a RAW Comedy State Finalist. Their 2022 debut Melbourne International Comedy Festival show, Official Awards Night, had a sold out run to rave reviews. Their ASMR-meets-Jackass late night talk show Make Good, debuted in New York city before completing a run at the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

  • Grace Zhang

    Grace Zhang is a comedian, writer and self-proclaimed “disappointment of the diaspora”. A RAW Comedy Semifinalist, she was part of Comedy Republic’s Asian Comedy showcase and won Comedy Collective's competition night.⁠ ⁠Catch her in Breast of the Fest at Trades Hall from 28th of March - 21st of April (no performance on Wednesdays).

  • Lucy Best

    Lucy Best is a British born, Australian-based comedian, writer, actor, comic and producer, performing both Australia wide and internationally. Lucy is a RAW Comedy State Finalist and a George’s Mega Comp comedy winner. This year she’ll be taking her monthly line-up show, Queer Cabaret on the road.

  • Shyaire Ganglani

    Shyaire Ganglani is a South Asian, Melbourne-based, writer, slam poet, and stand-up comedian with a knack for spinning her generational trauma into comedy gold. An award-winning writer, she is also the host of Funny For Comedy, a diverse monthly comedy room presented by Vibe Union.

  • Michele da Costa

    Michele da Costa is a Brazilian born, Melbourne-based comedian and three-time RAW Comedy Semifinalist. She loves dark humour, bad puns and blending political rants with dad jokes shamelessly. Catch her solo show, Life Alone at Tasma Terrace from 27th of March - 7th April.

  • Max Flett

    Max Flett is a locally-grown Melbourne comedian and MC who runs rooms all around Melbourne. He recently performed on the Comedy Untamed line up show and is performing a split-bill with Siobhan Larkin at Coopers Inn on the 30th & 31st of March and the 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th & 21st of April.

  • Siobhan Larkin

    Siobhan Larkin is a Melbourne comedian, writer and actor. She recently performed in The Charade at The MC Showroom and is a regular face at Comedy Republic. You can see more of Siobhan in her split-bill show which she’s performing with Max Flett at Coopers Inn on the 30th & 31st of March and the 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th & 21st of April.

  • Fin McLachlan

    Fin McLachlan is a sketch writer, stand-up comedian and former contestant of Survive the 80s, a Kiwi reality TV show which pits millennials against 80s culture and technology. Fin has written and performed in 2 sell-out sketch comedy shows in New Zealand Fringe Festival, and was nominated for “Best Newcomer in the Lower North Island” at the Comedy Guild Awards in 2021.

  • Han Arbuthnott

    Han Arbuthnott is a nonbinary/transmasculine comedian whose Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut, How to Shave, received rave reviews. Han has performed for Up Next Comedy, Comedy Republic’s Extra Queer Supershow and recently supported Hannah Gadsby at Hamer Hall. Catch Han in Dysphoria in Memoriam, a comedy fundraiser for gender affirming surgeries at Trades Hall on the 30th of March.

  • Fatima Ayub

    Fatima Ayub is a Pakistani-Aussie Muslim comedian and law student. She first got into comedy at 14 years old and might have maybe stolen a few jokes from Akmal Saleh before finding her own unapologetically loud and proud voice.

  • Jack Brady

    Jack Brady (previously known as Jacci Pillar), sometimes comedian and variety artist, mainly anthropologist; autistic-ly solving conundrums people don't know they have! A proud nonbinary autistic human with a potentially unhealthy love for acronyms and alliterations and inappropriate musical comedy composition. You might recognise Jack from their 2023 solo show, God Hates Me.

  • Trak Mole

    Trak Mole is 5 foot 5 & a half, DD cup nonbinary comedienne. Mind-blowingly sexy & cool. “Look me in the eyes while you laugh at me” is her only request during casual sex.

    Trak recently performed at Queer Cabaret at The Motley Bauhaus and as part of In Season at Improv Conspiracy.

  • Rose Callaghan

    Rose Callaghan is a Melbourne based award winning stand-up comedian, actor, writer and presenter. She’s appeared on Triple J, Double J, Nova and ABC Radio and hosts two podcasts, Swipe Night (with Kirsten Law) and Friendship Rose. She has previously taken home the Best Comedy Award at Sydney Fringe Festival and toured (fully clothed) with Puppetry of the Penis.
