Its Your Head That Bleeds by Georgia Mulholland
Georgia Mulholland @georgiaamulholland
Georgia Mulholland is a multidisciplinary artist, community organiser and humanitarian aid worker based between Naarm and the West Bank. Through sound, photography and moving image her artistic work explores themes of memory, place and identity.
It's Your Head That Bleeds (Book)
In late 2024, the author Georgia Mulholland engaged in a series of intimate interviews with her Palestinian friends in the West Bank, asking them to speak on their experiences in a moment defined by the ongoing echoes of 13 months of genocide.
The voices within the book are not just stories; they are living expressions of resilience, fear, hope and guilt —directly transcribed from those conversations. This work is an attempt to carry these voices across borders.
Stories within this book are written in both Arabic and English, developed through a close collaboration with Palestinian architect Bara’a Alaraj. Each book was delicately hand wrapped by the author with fibrous mulberry paper.
84 pages, 40 individual stories. Printed on 100% Recycled Envirocare Paper. Limited print-run. Cover designed by Jeriah Lau. Tatreez card designed by Samar Abedrabo.
